There is an amber public health alert is currently in place due to the hot temperatures, effective until 9am on Wednesday 2nd July. To help students stay more comfortable in this hot weather, following today's arrangements, students will once again be permitted to wear their full school PE kit tomorrow, Tuesday 1st July. The amber alert will remain in effect tomorrow, and temperatures are forecast to be around 27-28°C. Please ensure that only the official Higham Lane School PE kit is worn. We kindly remind you that leggings that are not school leggings and tight cycling shorts are not permitted as part of this relaxed uniform policy. Students will be expected to return to full school uniform on Wednesday 2nd July, as the weather forecast indicates a significant drop in temperature to around 20°C, and the amber alert will no longer be in place. We also wish to remind all students to bring a water bottle with sufficient capacity to keep them hydrated throughout the day. We have purchased additional water butts, which can be found in the canteen, to provide more water points for students to top up their bottles if needed. https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/seasonal-health/heatwave-how-to-cope-in-hot-weather/
