Higham Lane School

Many outstanding achievements for GCSEs and other qualifications

Higham Lane School is delighted to report many outstanding achievements by its students in their GCSEs and other qualifications this summer.

Headteacher Phil Kelly said: “We would like to say a huge well done to all of our Year 11 students for their hard work, focus and commitment. We are immensely proud of them and what they have achieved, especially after such a challenging year, with many disruptions due to the pandemic. I would also like to thank our staff who have worked exceptionally hard to ensure the students were effectively supported and are all able to progress onto the next stage of their education, training or employment”.

This year, following the cancellation of exams, grades were awarded through a process of teacher-assessed grades, against a national standard and approved and awarded by the exam boards. The government is not publishing performance data for any schools or colleges this year due to the varying impact of the pandemic. Given this unique situation, we will not be sharing our school’s 2021 results or highlighting individual student performances in the way we normally would. Our focus at this time will be on supporting our students in their next steps.
