HIGHAM LANE SCHOOL SIXTH FORM STUDENTS SHARE ADVICE FOR ALL SCHOOLS
On 19 July, a group of Year 12 and 13 students agreed to be filmed sharing advice about their sixth form journey. Assistant Headteacher and Head of Sixth Form, Mr Ladha, put his sixth form forward for the opportunity provided by NetSixthForm, a national hub for all sixth form leaders, to be one of three schools across the country to take part.
The advice provided by the students will be edited into short videos and played in tutorial time to help others sixth form students in centres across the UK to understand how to tackle the range of post 16 challenges. Higham Lane Sixth Form have made use of the existing NetSixthForm videos featuring students from other centres sharing advice and now Higham Lane join the schools chosen to feature their students.
‘Higham Lane Sixth Form students were so thoughtful, articulate and honest about their experiences. It was overwhelmingly clear to us all involved in filming the students that they enjoyed their sixth form experience and valued the constant care and opportunities provided…that came through unprompted and so strongly amongst each group we filmed.
We also noticed that many students seemed motivated by their career choice and not just by exam results themselves – very impressive! We wish everyone at Higham Lane Sixth Form every success with all their results and career ambitions and a special thank you to all those who took part.
We genuinely enjoyed visiting your fabulous sixth form centre and working with you all!’ stated Michael Senior, Founder, NetSixthForm.
