Year 6 Transition
Welcome to the Year 6 Transition section of our website!
We are delighted that your son or daughter will be joining us in September and look forward to working with both you and them.
We find ourselves in very strange and unpredictable times. COVID-19 has impacted all of our lives and, for us as a school, has meant that we have had to alter our plans for your son/daughter’s transition to secondary school in September. Despite this, we will do everything that we can to make the transition to secondary school as smooth as possible for your son/daughter.
In this section of our website you will find a range of information and activities.
Please keep visiting the website regularly to access the latest materials or subscribe to our social media feeds for the latest information. You will find us on Twitter (@HighamLane), Instagram (@highamlaneschool) and Facebook (Higham Lane School).
Please also remember to submit the Data Collection Sheet which you’ll find in the Data Collection for September section of the website. This is a very important document which we would be grateful if you would complete by 6pm on Wednesday 7th July 2021 so that we have your contact details. We would also be grateful if you could complete the other forms in the Data Collection for September section of the website by 6pm on Friday 16th July 2021.
Although we hope that most of your son/daughter’s questions will have been answered in the New Student Handbook (which you'll find under the Life at Higham section of this website) and the videos, we are aware that there may be further questions which you wish to ask so we have set up the following e-mail address for you or your child to ask questions which our transition team will answer; firstname.lastname@example.org.
Whilst these are not the transition arrangements we had originally intended, we hope that you will agree that in the current circumstances the alternative activities will greatly help to prepare your son/daughter for their transition to secondary school.
Until we meet next term, we would like to wish you and your son/daughter a safe and happy summer. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via the email@example.com email address.
